The AstLinux Development Team have posted details of the latest release of the Asterisk distribution for embedded platforms:

We're happy to announce the upgrade release for 0.6.8. This release will not be made available for new installation. (if you want to do a new install with the 0.6.x branch, install 0.6.7 then upgrade).

Changes:
Asterisk 1.4.26.3 (to address a security issue)
Asterisk-gui
php-5.2.11

All current 0.6.x users should update to this release.

CLI:
upgrade-run-image upgrade http://mirror.astlinux.org/firmware
reboot

Web Interface:
Go to 'system' tab
verify the Repository URL
'Check for New' Firmware (confirm checkbox)
'Upgrade with New' Firmware (confirm checkbox)

There is no way to say how important I think this work is. It really makes a huge difference to Asterisk and the ability to use it in an enterprise environment. Really great work.
