The wiki has a link to AstBoxLinux - a linux port for Asterisk PBX boxes without problems with Asterisk or Zaptel updates.
I have yet to try it so YMMV but thought I would post it anyway.

The AstBoxLinux is linux port for Asterisk PBX boxes without problems with Asterisk or Zaptel updates as we know form The AstLinux "world". AstBoxLinux is common and small linux with full gcc and g++ compilers and kernel headers for all PC's with CF/Flash ATA disks or USB disks.
AstBoxLinux have preinstalled easy web Asterisk admin with Asterisk's config files editor, sip and iax peer status view, channels status view, backup and system status preview.
AstBoxLinux is based on Voyage Linux. AstBoxLinux have preinstalled "BriStuffed" Asterisk, Zaptel a Libpri, but you can use any version of the Asterisk/Zaptel. AstBoxLinux is prepared for 1GB and 2GB CF cards, Flash disks, USB disk or can be used with common ATA/SATA HD's. All AstBoxLinux have preinstalled development tools (gcc, g++) and kernel headers for easy Asterisk, Zaptel and other development and compiling on the running PBX system.
You can use AstBoxLinux on the small "embeded" PC's or on the common PC's or PC servers with CF, Flash IDE disks, USB disks, ATA or SATA HD.
